Ocean Painting, Caribbean Wave, Seascape Oil Painting, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting,

Are you ready for another seascape?  This is one of my favorites because of the blues, greens, lavender colors.

It has a little impasto....not too much.

This painting reminds me of trips to the islands.

Although the original has been sold, giclee prints are available on paper, canvas, or wood panel.

Small Abstract Painting, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, Summer Dance Painting

I came back from a walk in the Blue Ridge Mountains, inspired by the bright summer colors.  Flowers were evident around every turn.

I love abstract, but find them very difficult.  I have to have a starting point, some type of inspiration, some plan of composition.  Often I end of scraping off hours of work.

This is one of the few that appeals to me.  I felt good about it and still think it conveys the emotions I was feeling at the time.  I mark this one as a success for me.

Ocracoke Island Abstract Oil Painting, Small Oil Painting, Daily Abstract Painting, Palette Knife Painting, SOLD

The Outer Banks on North Carolina have been on my mind.  I was thinking of Ocracoke when I painted this little abstract seascape.

The Outer Banks is like no other place I have visited. Surrounded by water, the residents are a hardy type who take pride in providing for themselves.  The danger of living there, is still felt, as the tropical storms and hurricanes devastate the dunes and road on a regular basis.  In earlier times, shipwrecks littered the beaches.

I painted with a palette knife and oils, leaving it as raw and wild as the beaches.

Tropical Island Palette Knife Oil Painting, 10x10x3", Coastal Home and Beach House Wall Decor, daily painting, small oil painting, abstract landscape

This tropical landscape is my version of a perfect deserted Caribbean island, surrounded by azure waters and sparkling beaches........Paradise!

Purchase here

The perfect place to chase away those dark and cold winter evenings.

I enjoyed creating this piece with my palette knife and my imagination.

It's on a 10" square stretched canvas, with 3" deep painted sides.  The deeper sides makes it look great on the wall, or on a shelf or table top.

Expressionist Seascape Painting, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, Textured Art, Palette Knife Painting, SOLD

Well probably your 5 yr old kid could do this....right?  Maybe that is why I enjoy it so much.

SOLD
I may be a slow learner, because it took me many years to get to this point.  Mama never said I was the sharpest knife in the drawer.

All kidding aside, I really love the freedom of this piece.  Instead of leaving the studio feeling like I have been fighting for hours, I felt very relaxed, happy and ready to sail through the day.  I think I need to do this more often!
