Small Seascape with Sunrise Painting, Textured Palette Knife Art, 6x8" Oil Seascape SOLD

Today I am posting one of my favorite subjects, the beach!

SOLD
In my opinion, one of the best reasons to live in Florida, is to be able to grab a cup of coffee, and head for the beach to see the sunrise.

The beach is usually empty....maybe I will see a lone fisherman.  For the most part, only the birds are there to keep you company.  It is so serene and calming.  The perfect way to start your day.  I cannot think of a better way to spend an early morning hour.

I hope you have a wonderful day today!

Abstract Painting, Four Seasons Series - Winter, Small Abstract Oil Paintings, 4x12x.75" Oil on Canvas, SOLD

This is the final installment of my Four Seasons Series, Winter.

With each painting, I tried to capture the feeling, of the season of the year, using only color.  It was a fun project to do.

Winter
This is not a good picture of "Winter" The actual painting has much more color variation and saturation.  Try as I might, I could not get a better image.

Spring

Tried to capture that "spring" feeling of new grass, flowering trees etc.

Summer

Summer...hot and salty....time for the beach!

Autumn

Autumn, falling leaves against bright blue skies.
Thanks for viewing my art today!

Small Abstract Painting, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, Summer Dance Painting

I came back from a walk in the Blue Ridge Mountains, inspired by the bright summer colors.  Flowers were evident around every turn.

I love abstract, but find them very difficult.  I have to have a starting point, some type of inspiration, some plan of composition.  Often I end of scraping off hours of work.

This is one of the few that appeals to me.  I felt good about it and still think it conveys the emotions I was feeling at the time.  I mark this one as a success for me.

Expressionist Sunset Painting, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, 9x12" Oil on Canvas Seascape, SOLD

Well probably your 5 yr old kid could do this....right?  Maybe that is why I enjoy it so much.

I may be a slow learner, because it took me many years to get to this point.  Mama never said I was the sharpest knife in the drawer.

All kidding aside, I really love the freedom of this piece.  Instead of leaving the studio feeling like I have been fighting for hours, I felt very relaxed, happy and ready to sail through the day.  I think I need to do this more often!

Daily Painting, Seascape Painting, Ocean Painting, Beach Painting, "Celebrating Blue" 16x20x1.5" Oil SOLD

I wanted to do a seascape, or actually a beach painting, somewhere between an abstract and impressionism.  If this looks a little familiar, it is because I posted the study for this work a month or two ago.

SOLD

I wanted to record just my memories and impressions of trips to the beach.  I painted with a knife and tried to work quickly.

I tried not to think too much about the colors I was using or where I was putting them, but tried to keep it really instinctive.

I wanted plenty of texture in this piece.

It was a fun exercise, although I wish I had done a larger piece.  Maybe someday I will.

Abstract Poured Paint, Mixed Media Painting, "STREAMS" by Carol Schiff, 6x6x1.5" SOLD

I hope you enjoy this example of  abstract poured paint.

SOLD

This has a very hard, high gloss finish on gallery wrap canvas.  Silver metallic paint brings additional interest and works well with the finish to create an eye-catching piece.
