Flower Painting, Spring Floral, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, 6x8" Oil on Panel

I visited the Biltmore Conservatory, here in Asheville, and found inspiration, in every direction!

Purchase Here

I was not finished with this scene!  I wanted to do another version, so I cropped my original image and returned to the easel.

(contact me to purchase this piece)

Maybe, it was the color combination, but I still had more to say.  This time I started with a complete abstract, nothing but color.  As I painted, it became a little more realistic.  I did my best to stop before over-working the piece.

Purchase a giclee print here.

I enjoyed the progression.  Which one do you prefer?

Flower Painting, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, Expressionist Art, Print on Canvas

I went to Biltmore Gardens a few weeks ago, and the conservatory was bursting with tulips, daffodil, hyacinth and other spring favorites.  I was so inspired!

This one one of three paintings I did with this color combination, a favorite of the Biltmore gardeners.

Living in Florida for 40 years, I'm am enjoying my first spring in the Blue Ridge Mountains, seeing many of the flowers I remember as a child.  I am excited to see even more as the season turns to summer.  Have my fingers crossed that I will find lilac in my neighborhood.

More to come.....thanks for ready my blog today.

Small Oil Seascape, Palette Knife Painting, Daily Painting Small Oil Painting, 6x8" Beach Scene

I may have left Florida behind, bu it is still on my mind.  I look forward to spending time on the beach this winter.

Purchase here

This piece was painted, from my memories of days on the beach, the air full of salt spray.

I painted with a palette knife, because, you all know how much I admire texture in my work.

I have several seascapes in my new Asheville home........it keeps me from getting homesick!  ACTUALLY, I love it here in the mountains.  I now feel I have the best of both worlds.  Mountains in the spring, summer and fall, and the beach in the winter.  Looking forward to being a "snow bird".

Thanks for visiting today.

Abstract Painting, Small Abstract, Alcohol Inks, Experimenting

I am finally writing a post in my new home!  It has been a long and stressful journey, from Melbourne, FL to Asheville NC.  I know I am home, because I am finally painting, posting and doing all those art related activities that were a part of my life for 25 years.  Welcome home!

This is an experiment with alcohol inks.  I purchased the inks, as a change from my oils, but my move has gotten in the way of experimenting with them.  I did find this little sample to be interesting and have lots of ideas on ways to use them in the future.  Have you tried them?  I am open to suggestions and techniques.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.
