Abstract Seascape Painting, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, 11x14" Original Oil Painting

It is so hard to believe, that we have been living in the mountains of North Carolina for a year and a half.  I marvel at the beautiful mountain scenes outside my door.  Asheville has sooo much to offer!

But there is something it cannot offer...the beach, the sea, the salt air.

Maybe that is why I was moved to do this abstract.

I had fun playing with the direction of my knife strokes.  Still a minimalist painting, but with a little added interest.   Hmmmm, I see a mountain abstract in my future!

The perfect wall decor for a beach house, or for someone dreaming of a beach house.

We will be heading back to the beach soon, and I will have sand on my toes, once again.

Have a blessed day!

Yellow in Art, Yellow Paintings, Small Oil Paintings, Daily Paintings

This time of the year is so hectic.  Now that I think about it, every time of the year has been hectic lately!

I am busy painting several large commissions, so for the moment, my daily paintings are scarce.  I decided to post some older works, and the theme I chose today is yellow.

Abstract Oil Painting, Small Oil Painting, Daily Painting, Abstract Seascape, 6x6x1.5" SOLD

The Outer Banks on North Carolina have been on my mind.  I was thinking of Ocracoke when I painted this little abstract seascape.

The Outer Banks is like no other place I have visited. Surrounded by water, the residents are a hardy type who take pride in providing for themselves.  The danger of living there, is still felt, as the tropical storms and hurricanes devastate the dunes and road on a regular basis.  In earlier times, shipwrecks littered the beaches.

I painted with a palette knife and oils, leaving it as raw and wild as the beaches.

Thanks for viewing my art today.
